Last month we renewed our pledges to support the Armed Forces Community by signing the Armed Forces Covenant.

The team regularly go above and beyond to support veterans, spouses, dependants and reservists in a range of areas including employment and training, personal and social skills, stable housing, family support, long term and mental health, managing addictions, debt and personal finance.

With support from a range of partners including The Royal British Legion, Help for Heroes and ABF The Soldiers’ Charity we continue to ensure a wide range of employment and progression support for veterans, reservists, service spouses and partners as well as providing support for cadet units and Armed Forces Day.

The Covenant is a voluntary pledge of support from businesses, charities and organisations to the armed forces community and includes two key principles:

·         No member of the armed forces community should face disadvantage in the provision of public and commercial services compared to any other citizen

·         In some circumstances special treatment may be appropriate, especially for the injured or bereaved.

Since our initial pledge in 2014 Finchale has developed the support we can offer to the community and the scope and depth of services available has grown exponentially.

“Finchale is proud to be able to support the Armed Forces Covenant and publicly commit our continued support for all those who serve or have served in the armed forces and their families.

Historically Finchale has been there from its inception as a rehabilitation and resettlement centre for service personnel returning from active service to the vast range of services you see today. Over the past year Finchale has helped more than 300 individuals from the armed forces community offering a tailored approach which enables us to respond to the varying needs and priorities of each individual we work with allowing participants to realise their potential and move towards a positive future.”
