The eighth and final season of Inspector George Gently will premiere on BBC One this Sunday May 21st at 8:30pm, it has been announced. http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b08s2cz3
In earlier news we revealed that Finchale has been home to some of the filming for the final season of the BBC’s popular crime drama Inspector George Gently and following BBC One’s announcement last week we’re really looking forward to tuning in this weekend.
If you didn’t already know the set teams arrived late last December and completely transformed the site making significant changes to the front of the main building, replacing reception with a police custody suite, turning training classrooms into offices and taking some of the current offices and corridors back in time with some creative paintwork; a really impressive experience that we were absolutely delighted to be a part of.
“It’s really clever what they did and the amount of detail they went to, to create the 1970’s aura - Not many people get a behind the scenes look at how a drama series is made and we are happy that we could be a part of it. The BBC were very helpful, our clients and visitors continued to access the site and staff and tenants enjoyed being at the heart of the action with some of them even getting parts as extras during filming.” Finchale’s Projects Officer, Jim Cooper.
