The first superintendent, Col Dean, had been a prisoner of the Japanese in Burma and Capt Richard Annand, to whom the first VC of Second World War was awarded, was the Personnel Officer at Finchale from 1948 – 1979.

We have supported disabled people and people with health inequalities for 72 years and are specialists in addressing multiple disadvantage and employment progression.  We provide support through case-managed individual placement and support services that are delivered in the community and address all the barriers to employment experienced by the individual in a single and bespoke service.  We work with individuals and families from the Scottish Borders to the East Riding of Yorkshire and from Teesside to Cumbria, including a wide range of small and large employers and partners from the public, private and third sectors.

Finchale transforms lives by releasing the talents of individuals and ensuring people receive the support they need to fulfil their potential.
