Geoffrey Fisher has faced significant challenges throughout his life. After a troubled family background he moved to the North East to start a new life 10 years ago.
Following a period of heavy drinking and struggling with his finances, Geoffrey entered a period of serious mental ill health – including post-traumatic stress disorder and depression stemming from childhood.
He lives with, and cares for, his disabled sister and her boyfriend, and has previously served as a reservist in the Royal Fusiliers Fifth Regiment.
Geoffrey, 36, was referred to Finchale Group by Stonham Housing Association and has since worked with Case Manager Angela Kelly who has encouraged him to access further mental health support, as well as working with him to better manage his finances and secure him a new home.
Geoffrey moved into his new home just a few weeks ago and now, feeling more settled, is looking forward to the next stage in his journey seeking voluntary work and/or employment.
