Reaching Out Across Durham (ROAD) brings together 12 well respected voluntary and community service organisations who want to make a real difference to the lives of 625 people who live in County Durham and are aged 25 and over.

In partnership with Shaw Trust, a national charity providing employment opportunities, skills development training and health and well-being services, we provide two programmes for people whose health condition or disability is making it hard for them to find and stay in work.

Step Forward Tees Valley supports local people to overcome the complex reasons preventing them from finding work. These barriers could include physical or mental ill-health, a lack of self-confidence, a gap in skills, a conviction, or an addiction.

In partnership with Remploy we offer support through the Work Choice programme.
Work Choice is the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) specialist disability employment programme. Flexible in design and individually tailored to help you get and keep a job if you are disabled and find it hard to work.

In partnership with Working Links; a leading provider of tailored services to help people maximise their potential, we provide Links to Work a programme designed to help customers overcome any barriers and find sustainable employment. It is available for people who are currently unemployed and Finchale delivers this programme as a sub-contractor in the North East. Links to Work is funded by the European Social Fund (ESF). ESF is transforming lives through better skills and better job prospects.

The TRUEview Spouse and Partner employment support programme supports military spouses and partners from the North East and aims to provide a true view/insight into employment and self employment whilst enabling particpants to gain an understanding of today's jobs market. Delivered in association with A&M Consultancy (specialists in employment and career focussed programmes) this programme is funded by a grant from the Ministry of Defence Covenant Grants Fund and has a unique focus on jobs that can lead to a portable career. The programme, which is free to participants, is delivered locally to Catterick Garrison to support the ever increasing size of the Garrison population in an easily accessible location.

The Specialist Interventions Programme aims to help Army Veterans to form bright futures offering individualised support to aid progression in health, training and work. It is funded by ABF The Soldiers Charity.
